The melody mastermind.
Tors are a dynamic trio from Devon, UK. They play a heady mix of hook driven indie-folk with heartfelt, storytelling lyrics and anthemic, harmony-led choruses. The three-piece have spent the last two years touring the UK and Europe, playing sold out shows with the likes of Tom Walker, John Newman, Walking On Cars, and Picture This. Having built up a substantial following they recently sold out their headline show at the prestigious London Scala.
Since the start of 2020, having been awarded the PRS Hitmaker fund, the boys have been hauled up in their Dad’s shed writing, recording, and releasing a track each month as a challenge to themselves and an exercise in creating a constant stream of content for their fans. They do everything in-house from songwriting and production to artwork and music videos; a veritable production line of ‘bangers’.
Tors take their name from the ancient, jagged rock formations that litter the Devon landscape; home to brothers Matt and Theo whose grandfather was Bert Weedon – famous guitarist of the 50s and 60s. He was best known for his book ‘Play In A Day’ that is credited by the likes of Eric Clapton, The Beatles, and Brian May. It was their weekend visits to Bert and his unmatched guitar collection that set the boys in the pursuit of a career in music.
Matt, Theo and Jack have also forged a successful venture into songwriting for other artists. They’ve had numerous cuts with the likes of Dean Lewis and Nick Wilson etc. With songs A-listed on BBC Radio 1 & 2 they have amassed over 200 million streams on Spotify and reached the top 25 UK Airplay Charts with the track ‘Perfectly Imperfect’ by Declan J Donovan.
